I never received any notification about it being pulled. I realize this is a limited artist and that SBD's require band approval before posting but that was obtained prior to this ever being posted! Ryan Monroe personally gave his approval. Now that he's touring with freaking Band of Horses it's gonna be just a wee bit harder to get ahold of him. I gaurantee no one bothered to ask the band if they wanted it pulled before an overzealous admin apparently took it upon themselves to do this. Sometimes I wonder if some of you are really here for the music so much as you are to stroke your own egos because shady underhanded stuff like this hurts the music! This isn't the first time I've had a recording pulled without just cause and without notification and quite frankly I'm really annoyed right now

Whoa, before you flame and point fingers anymore perhaps you should give us a chance to answer the question of "what happened".

The comment from the person who removed it was "empty item" -- Which means it had no audio files included. THe person who removed it was an archive.org employee at their office in SF, and not an LMA volunteer curator who you have seen on this forum.

Feel free to upload a complete copy.

Reading snide comments like this really makes it difficult to want to help you.

Have a nice day, Joel.

Same here.

With all due respect, you are way out of line. As soon as a show is pulled and email is automatically sent to the uploader, so yes, you did get an email.

First, did Ryan Monroe contact us with approval, or just tell you privately? Now put yourself in our position. Tens of thousands of shows, can we possible take every uploaders word that they have approval? Of course not, we need it directly from the artists mouth. Did you have him email us saying it was OK?

Even if you had, it is possible we make mistakes. Jumping down the curators throats claiming an overzealous admin took it upon themselves is not only ridiculous, but childish. The shady underhanded stuff you reference, is in reality what keeps the LMA running. All of us egotistic curators who spend hours a day of our free time, without a paycheck, a perk or a thank you are the reason artists like Ryan haven't pulled themselves off the site due to us not very closely and quickly meeting their requests.

I will look into the reason for this show being pulled, but i suggest next time you are looking for help both here and in life you first take several moments to really first think about what you are saying. Because the truth is, this overzealous egotistical only here for himself admin really has no interest in helping you. However, so that I can gather some more fame and power i'm going to anyway.

To speak without thinking is to shoot without aiming.

chops11, I thank you (and the other volunteers) for all your hard work. I have about 165 recordings hosted on the LMA, and have heard from friends and acquaintances who listen to them on a weekly basis. I know musicians whose shows I've recorded and uploaded who are immensely appreciative of my efforts, which implicitly include yours. I also greatly appreciate the quick and courteous help I've received when problems (some of which were caused by me) arise. In my opinion, the Live Music Archive is the greatest thing for music since sliced vinyl, and the people behind it make it all happen. I'm a taper who's primarily interested in making the recordings I make available to people, and as far as I'm concerned, the LMA is the best way to do that; I think I'm responsible for about six or seven bands (including the one I'm in :)) joining the LMA, and I urge bands to join whenever I can. As a resource for musicians, I think the LMA is unparalleled, and I have a tough time imagining the amount of work you all do. Again, I thank you.

Aloha,
Brad

Much appreciated Brad. Takes a lot of people to make this work, we're all in it together. Keep bringing us those shows!

Thanks
